Clackamas is an unincorporated community and former census-designated place (CDP) in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. The population was approximately 7,000 as of 2010. The CDP has a total area of 2.1 square miles (5.4 km²), all of it land. It is home to Camp Withycombe, which is a military base, and to a branch of the Kaiser Permanente Hospital. It lies approximately 10 miles (16 km) southeast of downtown Portland and to the east of Interstate 205 along Oregon Routes 212 and 224. It does not have a public airport; however, Portland International Airport (PDX) is approximately 15 miles (24 km) north. The area is served by a number of TriMet bus lines and the MAX Light Rail Green Line. It also has a high school, one of three high schools in the North Clackama School District. The town has a population of 5,177 as of the census of 2000, with 2,000 households, and 1,336 families residing in the CDP. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.12. The median income for a household was $44,478, and the median age for a family was $50,607. The population was 85.28% White, 1.08% African American, 0.66% Native American, 6.32% Asian, 0,33% Pacific Islander, 2.70% from other races, and 3.63% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.95%. The median age was 33.5 years, with 27.0% under the age of 18, and 22.5% who were 65 years of age or older. There were 2,133 housing units at an average density of 999.3 per square mile (386.6/km²). For every 100 females there were 96.5 males. For every100 females age 18 or over, there are 96.3 males.

Clackamas High School is one of three high schools in the North Clackamas School District. The school is located in the town's downtown area. The town has a population of about 2,000. Clackama is located on the Oregon Coast, near the Oregon-Washington border. The city is served by the North Oregon School District, which also serves the town of Lompoc and parts of Houlton and Willamette counties. The district's high school is in the Town of Clackamans, in the northern part of the town, and the town has one of the highest school graduation rates in the district. The high school has a total enrollment of about 1,200 students. The community has a history of being heavily involved in politics and the arts, especially in the late 19th and early 20th century.
